A woman is under arrest in connection with an attack on an MTA agent last month.
Police charged Ayizhae Thomas with assault, acting in a manner injurious to a child, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing. The 24-year-old is one of two women accused of beating up Marshalee Reid on June 28 after police say Reid confronted them for not paying their fare at the New Lots subway station.
A transit union representative told News 12 Reid is extremely distraught and concerned about the long-term effects.
Some customers said they don't understand how not paying a fare could lead to such violence.
"I don’t feel like $2.90 is that much of a big of a deal," said one woman.
Police are still searching for the second person seen in the surveillance video.
