Shortly before police found the bombing suspect sleeping in a bar vestibule, he was looking through the window of a nearby Dunkin' Donuts as customers inside watched news reports about the attacks, according to an eyewitness.
The witness, who asked not to be identified, tells News 12 the suspect was outside the shop around 6:45 a.m. Monday. A worker at the shop confirmed the story.
They both say that Ahmad Rahami was standing in the pouring rain, and when one of them walked outside, the two had a brief conversation.
"He looked like he was worried," the witness says. "He had a hood on, and he asked me, 'What's going on in the TV?' And I said something about some bomb...basically he turned his back."
The witness says he thought Rahami seemed suspicious so he went to his car and called 911.
