Residents dealt with a winter storm in New Jersey that hit the area with snow and messy conditions.
The snowfall was steady for much of the afternoon and became heavier after 4 p.m. Most areas had less than an inch sticking to roads as the sun set, but heavier snowfall in the evening led to more accumulation.
Plows and salt were used to keep most main roads clear, though drivers said Route 23 was coated with some snow going into the evening. Drivers are urged to use caution when out on the roads this weekend.
Some New Jersey residents prepared for the storm ahead of time by purchasing salt, shovels and groceries. Those who didn?t get the chance to stock up on supplies rushed to stores early Saturday before the snow picked up.
