What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
A recent article by the
New York Times posed that question had many people sharing their profound advice on social media.
News 12 New Jersey decided to find out what type of life advice our viewers received, so we hit the streets to found out.
“Take one day at a time,” said Doug Margaretta of South Bound Brook.
“Do unto others as you would have done unto you,” said Michael Huey of Princeton.
Barbara Cop of Green Brook said, “I think it’s just to take life as it comes and not take it so seriously.”
Emilio Galan of Somerville advised New Jerseyans to walk as much as possible.
“Keeps you healthy. Keeps you observing. Keeps you alive and enjoying the good weather,” he said.
Rand Pitts of Evolve Clothing Gallery in Somerville has started to put his own sage pieces of advice on the wall of his shop.
“Don’t be afraid to be different. Be afraid of being the same as everyone else,” he said. “You really want to stand out and it’s not that hard.”
New Jersey residents have a lot of good life lessons to give.
