A lawmaker's push to connect more people with unclaimed funds is expanding across Westchester County.
Westchester County Board of Legislators Chair Vedat Gashi and Legislator David Imamura teamed up with the county executive's office and state comptroller to raise awareness of the available funds.
They're sending out a massive mailing so people know there is about $500 million in unclaimed funds in Westchester County alone.
The money mostly comes from dormant bank accounts, uncashed paychecks and other reimbursements.
Imamura says people might also be eligible to receive funds for a loved one who passed away.
