West Orange firefighters rescue one person from top‑floor townhouse blaze
One person was hospitalized Friday morning after being rescued from the top floor of a burning townhouse on Clarken Drive.
West Orange Fire Department units arrived to find smoke coming from a three-story, wood-frame occupied residence.
Firefighters immediately launched an interior attack to suppress the main body of the fire.
During a primary search of the smoke-filled building, crews located an individual on the third floor.
Firefighters successfully removed the victim, who was then treated by emergency medical services and transported to a nearby hospital.
Fire officials confirmed the blaze was contained to the single unit and did not spread to neighboring townhomes.
No injuries were reported among responding firefighters.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
