The rainy weather will continue over parts of New Jersey through Thursday's overnight hours.
Storm Watch Team meteorologists say the rain will be steady, with the possibility for some thunderstorms. Meteorologist Dave Curren says the rainy weather should wrap between 12 a.m. and 2 a.m. Overnight lows are expected to cool into the mid-40s.
Thursday’s rain was beneficial for the state. New Jersey has only accumulated less than 1.5 inches of rain for the month. This time of the year typically sees more than 3 inches of rain. The rain will help protect the state during wildfire season this summer.
Friday is expected to be mostly dry, with some clouds in the morning and a clearing by the afternoon. Daytime highs will be in the low-60s. Overnight lows will be in the mid-40s.
Saturday is expected to start off cloudy, with more rain developing by the afternoon. Daytime temperatures will be cooler, with highs around 57 degrees. Clouds are expected to remain for Saturday night. Overnight lows will be in the upper-30s.
Sunday will start off partly cloudy in the morning, followed by overcast skies by the afternoon. Daytime highs will be in the upper-40s. Temperatures will drop to the low-20s overnight.
Monday will also see cooler temperatures, with daytime highs only in the upper-30s. A mix of sun and clouds is expected. Overnight lows will be in the low-20s.
