A heartbroken community joined together to mourn the Neptune mother of nine allegedly shot and killed by her police sergeant ex-husband.
The wake for Tamara Seidle was held Sunday evening at Holy Spirit Church in Asbury Park.
Police say her ex-husband, Neptune Police Sgt. Philip Seidle, chased her down and then shot and killed her in front of the couple's 7-year-old daughter. It happened on Sewall Avenue in Asbury Park.
Divorce documents filed in 2013 show a troubled relationship, with Seidle accusing her husband of years of extreme cruelty and violence. Prosecutors said the couple's divorce was finalized May 27.
A funeral service for Seidle is scheduled for noon Monday at Holy Spirit Church.
Sgt. Seidle has pleaded not guilty to several charges including first-degree murder.
