Verona police: Suspected serial car burglar caught again trying to steal another vehicle

A suspected serial car burglar is facing charges after being caught red handed.
Police say 21-year-old Hamzah Williams, of Avenel, was found in the passenger seat of a car Friday around 3 a.m. in Verona.
According to authorities, Williams unlawfully entered the car without the owner's permission and was burglarizing the vehicle.
Williams was previously charged in 2022 with burglarizing 34 vehicles over a four-day span in the same town, police say. He is now charged with one count of burglary and is scheduled to be back in court in September.
The Verona Police Department is also reminding residents to lock all car windows and doors each night.
