The U.S. Coast Guard announced Tuesday it will be holding public hearings on the investigation into the cargo ship fire in Port Newark back in July.

The hearings are set for the week of Jan. 8. Specific days and times are unclear.

Questions remain about what caused the fire, the condition of the boat and the response protocol.
