It was supposed to be the day three young students started the school year, but instead Delaware State University held a memorial Tuesday for the three victims of the schoolyard slayings in Newark.
Terrance Aerial and DaShon Harvey were supposed to return to the school, while Iofemi Hightower was set to begin his freshman year. Their lives were cut short when they were killed execution-style in a Newark schoolyard on August 4.
During the memorial, the only victim to survive the shooting, Natasha Aerial, called her classmates from her hospital room.
Meanwhile, six suspects have been arrested in connection with the shootings.
