The Final Four for the NCAA basketball tournament will be held on Saturday.
In celebration of the event, some passengers flying out of Newark Liberty International Airport can take their shots at a prize before hitting the sky.
United Airlines has a creative way to get customers to sign up for its MileagePlus program. The carrier set up a Big Shot Basket in Terminal C.
“We saw an opportunity to embrace customers and to celebrate them and ask them to take one big shot, so we caught at the United Airlines Big Shot,” says United Airlines general manager Donald Gaines.
Current MileagePlus customers were welcome to take their best shot. Jaden Kim, of Cresskill, stole the show. He walked up to the line, burying his free throw.
“I play basketball, so I just was so confident of making it in, yeah,” he says.
Whether they made it or missed, all who took a shot were given a prize.
Non-MileagePlus members were invited to sign up and then walk to the free throw line for their chance.
