The holiday travel season officially begins tomorrow, but some New Jersey residents are hoping to get a head start on the traffic.
An estimated 2.2 million New Jersey residents will be traveling more than 50 miles from home this holiday travel season. Around 91 percent of them will be going by car. Decreases in gas prices and increases in air fare are fueling many people's decisions to hit the road.
"Flying is a little expensive, especially with five people. I like driving, believe it or not," says Anthony Coschignano.
Coschignano is not alone. Road travel is up about one percent over last year, while air travel is down nearly ten percent.
