The New York Jets are looking to improve on last year’s 4-12 record, with the new NFL season less than three weeks from kicking off.
The team split their first two preseason games and with two more to go, head coach Adam Gase says there's still plenty of kinks to work out.

“I mean it's a fine line, we have a long ways to go, every week you're just trying to get better and if you have one week where it doesn't go the way you plan it to go then you just have to get better the next week,” says Gase.

Gase is entering his first year as the team’s head coach, and he says he likes what he sees so far, especially from running backs Le’Veon Bell and Ty Montgomery.

“This offense as a whole is an attack offense and we're trying to score as many points as possible and coach Gase as a knack for putting guys in a position to succeed no matter who it is,” says Montgomery.

The running backs aren't just helping the offense, players say having to go against guys like Bell and Montgomery on defense is also elevating play on that side of the ball.

“It helps everybody, it helps the O-line, it helps the defensive line and once we try to go against those backs that try to read the holes we work on it every day and it's good for the linebackers too when we get out in coverage when he gets outside the box,” says linebacker C.J. Mosley.

Preseason continues for the team Saturday when they welcome the Saints to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.
