Wayne police arrested three people after a monthslong investigation into a drug distribution system based in East Orange.
Three people were arrested and charged, including 34-year-old Fabian Ramos-Torres, of East Orange, 44-year-old Jimmy Candelario, of Linden, and 47-year-old Nydia Rivera, of Newark.
The investigation, in collaboration with the New Jersey State Police Strategic Investigations Unit and Department of Homeland Security in Newark, identified and conducted raids at multiple locations in East Orange, according to police.
Officers seized approx. 1.5 kilos of cocaine, 20 bags of heroin, 1 ounce of methamphetamine, cutting agents and other equipment and packaging for a drug distribution facility.
More than $30,000 cash was seized as drug proceeds, and a .380 caliber handgun and .556 caliber assault rifle were also seized, police said.
Candelario and Rivera are due in court before Judge John Gizzo on March 30, according to court records.
