Trains are back up and running through Ridgewood after a suspicious package shut down the area around the train station for part of the morning.
A New Jersey Transit police officer on patrol around 8:45 a.m. says he noticed an unattended pair of shoes with what appeared to be a wire underneath.
About 30 customers were evacuated from the station. The Bergen County Bomb Squad and police responded, and determined the area to be safe.
As a result, service on the main Bergen and Port Jervis lines was delayed about 45 minutes.
