The Fairfield Police Department arrested Jayson Dicosta from Toms River, N.J., for driving while intoxicated on March 9.

On that date at approximately 8:30 a.m., Officer Jayson Sickles was patrolling southbound on Passaic Avenue and observed a silver vehicle stopped at a green traffic signal near New Dutch Lane. Sickles followed the vehicle, observed several additional motor vehicle violations, and pulled the car over near the Essex County Airport.

Dicosta was found to be the driver and only occupant.  Sickles saw Dicosta exhibiting signs of being under the influence.

A field sobriety test was conducted, and Dicosta was subsequently placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. His vehicle was impounded.

He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and several additional motor vehicle offenses.
