Gov. Mikie Sherrill says she's open to congressional redistricting to counter efforts by President Donald Trump and Republicans nationwide.
In an interview with CNN, Sherrill accused Trump of trying to "cheat the system" through aggressive map changes in other states.
She says New Jersey is reviewing its options and would consider working with lawmakers on new district lines—though constitutional hurdles remain.
Sherrill says the goal is to protect fair voting and create what she calls a "counterbalance."
