We're gonna to get outside right now to Lauren D in Cedar Knowles. Lauren, what are the road conditions like where you're at right now? Well, you know, there's a little bit of snow coming out. I just collected this. It's it's a total winter mix here, a wintery mix. You have snow, you have sleet, you have icy conditions. I want to bring in Jeff Paul Marris County OEM here. We're standing in front of this giant salt dome, and it's a pretty big operation. So before we talk about how the county is doing overall, what's going on here at the salt dome this morning? Well, right now our trucks are coming back in for reloads of salt, so they've been out throughout the evening, obviously in place. We have 300 lane miles of roadway. To protect and make sure that our trucks are out there doing their thing, so they're coming back in for reloads right now and back out into their posts to keep the roadways safe as salt. And so is salt kind of the main, the main action that's going on today? Well, this particular storm right now, you know, we're certainly in salting mode, you know, potentially moving to plowing when that is appropriate, but right now we're trying to keep this ice that's coming down, you know. We got, you know, sleet coming down. The road temps are low, so you know it's an ice issue for us right now. And so how is the county doing overall? You said it's closed the county today. Well, we had an early morning call with our administrator Leary and the other department heads, and we spoke with Sheriff Gannon last night, and really the decision this morning was based on safety. I mean the timing of the storm and the temperatures and what's happening right now, you know. We have a lot of territory that has to be covered and to make that safe even with a delay opening at this point based on the timing of what's happening, so the administrator made the decision to err on the side of caution with safety in mind, which is great you know we closed the county. So timing, you know, a big factor, the ice coming down. You need the salt. What if someone is at home watching? What's your recommendation to them at home this morning and watch to news 12 and watch what's going on. Thank you. Yeah, we can see the salt operation going on there and you're going to be busy all morning, right? We will be, yes, and the road crews you know really the credit to them. We have contractors, you know, full-time staff, obviously they're out there doing their thing and making it safe for the motoring public, but we do tell the public to pay attention to the conditions. You're not going to see the ice, you know, it's cold, it's wet. Things are freezing and we expect to warm up probably closer to noon, but right now, you know, if you don't have to be out there or you're not prepared for the conditions or your car's not ready to drive in this kind of weather, best to stay put.
