Two siblings are dead following an apparent murder-suicide in a Pennsauken neighborhood Wednesday morning.
The incident took place Wednesday morning, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office. Police responded to Bethel Avenue at 9:01 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they were told a man armed with a handgun was inside the home. Police also found the victim, identified as 59-year-old Janet Camacho, on the front steps of the house. She was taken to Cooper University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at about 9:38 a.m.
Local and county first responders also responded to the scene. At about 10:37 a.m., police found the body of the victim’s brother, identified as 60-year-old Daniel Lopez, inside the house. The Prosecutor’s Office said he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at 10:41 a.m.
