Let's check in now with News 12 New Jersey's Lauren de. She's in Reddington. She was making snowballs earlier this morning. I know she's been in a couple of quick checks. So I guess she has some caffeine in her as well. What do you got now? Lauren? Ok. I have literally the entire store of quick check. Hey, get out with me. We're in Reddington. All right. So how has business been today? This has been pretty good. Um, a lot of snow plow guys coming in, come get your coffee. Um, we have the best sandwiches in town will be open 24 hours mark. Did have a, did have a, an egg and cheese, I think. And so I saw you salting and shoveling. Everything is we're making it safe for everyone to come here. Still. We have fuel. We have sandwiches, everyone's here waiting to, to take care of the customers. But yeah, we're making it safe too. Oh, I love that. And I saw you pumping people's gas, right? Is, is that your job? It's my job here. Yeah, you like it in the cold like this? It's not that bad for me. I don't think. No, we appreciate you on days like this and every day in New Jersey especially. And you're assaulting the sidewalks too. Right. Absolutely. I keep everybody safe. You know. Wait, where is the lady that, what's your question? I need my car shoveled out. Does anybody want to help? All right. Come on down. So, there you go. Wait. And then we have this lady over here. You have another question too. Right. Yeah. Is it ok to turn around and not go to work today? I mean, come on, guys, it took me about 10 minutes to go three miles down route 22. So the roads are pretty icy up this way. All right. Well, uh, you have my permission to turn around and go home because we are driving the roads too and we're slipping and sliding. So be careful again. If you gotta go out, you know, there's gas and there's food available right here at the quick Jack. We're in Reddington right along 22 Lauren Dune. He's 12 New Jersey.

All right. Well, that heavy snow is coming down and it's going to keep going, coming down. So, let's see what's happening in Bridgewater this morning. Yeah, from Sussex to Somerset County this morning we check in with news 12, New Jersey's Lauren. Do Lauren. Obviously, in this part of the state, most kids are gonna be staying home for a snow day today. Exactly. We're at Bridgewater Raton High School and guess what? You guys, it's a snow day and I am a ruler kind of reporter Tony Caputo. Take that. So, what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna show you the difference of the snow that accumulated on the paved surfaces. It's a little difficult because the DPW crews did a great job clearing out any of the snow that we picked up here in Bridgewater. So the best I could give you for a paved surface is gonna be this curb right here. So if we put the ruler in, it looks like about an inch of snow here on the curb now because it's been what, like 6050 degrees these past couple of days, the grass actually accumulated more snow than the paved surfaces. So, let's go over here and look at that. You got about, you know, 2.5, 3 inches here. I mean, it's not quite seven inches like Tony Caputo did in Sussex, but it definitely shows that the grassy surfaces were cold enough longer than the paved surfaces. So the rain started at about midnight or so here. And actually the schools in Bridgewater Raritan, the school district actually started off as a delayed opening at about, let's say six o'clock. That's when the kids got word that it's going to be a snow day. And for good reason, you could see the crews. Yeah, sure. They, you know, cleaned up the sidewalks but the roads we were just showing you were very, very, uh, slick and wet. So there's the snowplow that was doing it just like Tony Caputo and Rudy Bode Mark. Guess what? We're gonna sit down at the picnic table. We're gonna take a page out of their book. Come on. You could say you got the snow pants on. Tony said that was his best investment. Getting the, uh, there you go. I love that. And we'll take our snow total here. Let's see. What is that? I gotta get up and look too, uh, not even an inch on this picnic table. All right, Tody Wins. Well, that heavy snow coming down as we speak and there will be more as the morning goes on. Let's head back outside news. 12 New Jersey's Lauren de is joining us now, live from outside of Wawa in Bridgewater. So, what are you seeing? Are people trying to get around here this morning, Lauren? Yeah. You know what, Nick, we actually have Raheem here and Raheem, you're cleaning off your car. How's the snow out there? It's getting heavy. Yeah. Um, it's not safe to drive right now. But, uh, unfortunately I have to drive. I get to work. You gotta get to work. And so what are you doing this morning? Going to work? Going to work? You wipe it off your car though, with the snow, it just accumulated too quick. Yes, it's accumulated very quick. But, um, as soon as I get on the highway, I'm sure it'll be not that bad. We just drive safe out there and you know what? That's a good reminder to clean off your car. So, thank you and have a good morning. You too. Thank you. Let's take a page out of Rahim's book because I don't know if you saw us in our last hit, we were driving around in Thunderbolt 12 and you probably saw the hood of our car was totally snow covered. And again, this is just from driving around and I bet you all these cars over here that actually have their, uh, windshield wipers up are probably some, uh, WW workers. But yeah, that's your reminder this morning. So Tony says he can't wait to get outside and play in all this snow. But you gotta make sure that you're doing your due diligence. Guys. You gotta be cleaning off your car and look at this. This is just a wet sloppy snow. So just be careful out there again. If you are gonna drive, you just heard her hand. It is a full on wintery mix here. So at times there's rain and there's snow mixing and then there's ice. We're just totally covered out here in Bridgewater. I will say the hills are slippery. We're in thunderbolt 12 this morning and we were slipping and sliding. So you do need to go slow. The majors like 22 that seem to be fine. Now, uh, we're in the park. Weather comment, Sarah. There's actually, uh, we watched the plow track go by and we'll take a look at the snow right now. This is a very slushy snow. Ok. So it's like covered with, uh, there you go. You could definitely make a, like an ice ball out of this. Now, there was a snowplow that went through, there's not enough snow to plow it. So sparks were flying. Um I just wanna let you know. So just be careful out there. So, Thunderbolt 12, let me show you all the equipment that I have today. You gotta have a good brush with you. Maybe the ice scraper. Of course, we have our ruler and look at this shovel. This is probably one of my favorite pieces of equipment that I have. You can expand this shovel and uh you could start shoveling. It's obviously wet. There you go. Look at that, look at that shovel so you can just keep it right in your car. And, uh, yeah, you gotta be careful. So, yeah, not much to measure. But look at all this snow. That's what you're gonna be dealing with heavy wet snow. You gotta be careful all shoveling.
