New Jersey’s summer tourism season may be on the way out, but holiday weekend visitors are on their way in - to the Jersey Shore.
News 12 crews saw thousands of drivers on the Garden State Parkway heading down to such areas as Lavallette, LBI and Atlantic City for the Labor Day holiday weekend.
Friday afternoon was expected to be among the worst times to travel for the holiday. But many drivers who spoke to News 12 said that conditions weren’t too bad.
“I’m quite surprised because we got a late start,” said one driver.
“Some people shouldn’t be in the left lane. They shouldn’t be in the right lane. Pick other lanes, people,” said another driver.
AAA says that for Saturday, the worst time to travel is basically any time between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
