New legislation in the works in Trenton would allow drivers to schedule appointments online at a Motor Vehicle Commission office.
Sen. Anthony Bucco sponsored the bill, saying, "For too long, the MVC has dragged its feet on implementing an online reservation system that would alleviate the persistently long lines outside of agency offices. This bill will force their hand and provide the convenience that drivers have demanded and deserve."
Three MVC locations remain closed after employees tested positive for coronavirus.
The Washington Township location is scheduled to reopen a week from Saturday, the Manahawkin Vehicle Center is scheduled to reopen Monday, and the location in Rahway will reopen one week from today.
