An auction is underway for people to get their hands on popular items from The Fireplace Restaurant.
The Fireplace Restaurant permanently closed its doors in July 2021. The Paramus establishment – dubbed famously as “New Jersey’s Most Iconic Restaurant” -- has mostly remained intact, and now Remember When Antiques and Estate Sales, LLC is selling off the entire remaining contents.
"It's sad, I mean it's tragic,” said auction manager Ed Frischkorn. “It's another place that has disappeared. This place means so much to a lot of people."
The auction, via icollector.com, will feature everything from the original chandeliers and cast-iron railings to food trays and vintage China. The most popular items include the original menu board.
The auction closes June 26.
Items can be picked up directly from The Fireplace Restaurant on June 27 and 28 from 5-7 p.m.
