A popular bar and restaurant in Point Pleasant reopened less than a day after feeling the effects of Erin.

Martell’s Tiki Bar on the Jenkinson Boardwalk saw several feet of water near their beach bar. However, manager Mike St. George said they were prepared in advance.

Workers built sand dunes, stocked away tables, chairs and cleared the area nearby.

"Every few years or so we do anticipate. We do expect it,” St. George told News 12. “This happened to be a little earlier than we are used to… It's a lot, but we pulled together and hopefully we will have a good weekend."

Despite stormy conditions, the business was up and running within 12 hours.
