A group of teenagers from Bergen and Union counties built, painted and mounted birdhouses in a Mahwah cemetery this week.
The group of about 50 teens was working with a program sponsored by the Newark Archdiocese to teach kids the importance of cemeteries in the Catholic faith.
The Mary Rest Cemetery in Mahwah now has several beautiful birdhouses to hopefully bring in birds to make it a more welcoming place.
If the teens had lost someone in their life, they personalized the birdhouses with the name of their loved one.
