An 18-year-old was shot multiple times near a church in Kingsbridge Heights, according to police.
Police say a call for an assault came in at 11 a.m. Tuesday in front of 2853 Webb Ave. When officers arrived on scene, they found an 18-year-old-man with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. He was taken to SBH Health System where he is listed in stable condition.
Witnesses told News 12 the teen had just arrived home with his parents when it appeared that he was ambushed by an unidentified gunman.
Jeanette Santos lives a block away and walks her dog down Webb Avenue daily, she says the neighborhood which is home to Our Lady of Angels church and a playground is typically safe and was surprised to see what happened.
"All the time, I come out early, I don't see nothing wrong, this path is always people walking their dog... It's terrible, these young guys have nothing better to do then be in the street and shoot and kill people that's not nice," said Santos.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
