A loaded handgun was intercepted at Newark Liberty International Airport's security checkpoint last week, according to Transportation Security Administration officials.
Officials say the 9mm firearm, carried by a Morristown man, held eight bullets.
Port Authority police confiscated the gun and arrested the man. Penalties for bringing a weapon to a checkpoint can reach $15,000
