About 30 percent of New York City schools will start earlier in the morning and end earlier as a part of the United Federation of Teachers' union agreement.
According to the plan, teachers would spend over an hour after school receiving skills training and reaching out to parents.
There is no word from the Department of Education as to which schools would be affected.
