Today is the deadline to file state and federal taxes, or ask for an extension.

The filing deadline was three months ago, but was extended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the IRS, an extension to file does not mean added time to pay, so residents probably need to make a payment today if they owe.

If you've already filed and are due a refund, the IRS says most are being issued within 21 days.
