Two schools in the Bronx announced Tuesday that they will be shutting down because of worries about swine flu.
At the South Bronx Charter School, more than 20 students are home sick with flu-like symptoms while the Horace Mann School said in an e-mail to parents that it would close after classes Tuesday and reopen on May 26.
The e-mail said many of the students have been going home with the flu, though no one has tested positive for swine flu.
The Bronx schools are the latest in a growing number of city schools to close because of flu fears. At least 18 have been shut down in the past week.
State Health Commissioner Richard Daines said Tuesday the number of H1N1 cases in New York City now stands at 192.
AP wire services were used in this report.
