‘Suspicious incident’ in East Brunswick deemed ‘misunderstanding’
A suspicious incident in East Brunswick earlier this week has been deemed a “misunderstanding” by the town police department.
A student reported that he was approached by a stranger while getting off the school bus Monday afternoon near Willows Street. The stranger asked the boy’s name and then apparently chased him when the boy ran away.
But East Brunswick police say that the man did not mean any harm. The man is apparently visiting family from another country.
Police say that when the stranger was advised of the situation, he cooperated fully and is no longer considered to be a suspicious person.
