Students in the Northern Burlington County Regional School District are beginning their second day of remote learning today after one teacher tested positive for COVID-19.
The teacher at Northern Burlington County Middle School learned Saturday of the positive test, and has since begun experiencing symptoms.
According to Superintendent James Sarruda, it's not likely the teacher contracted it while on school grounds. A letter was sent to all faculty and Board of Education members, notifying them of the positive case.
Sarruda says 11 educators who had come into contact with the teacher were asked not to return to school Monday. Their return dates will be decided at a future date.
The district is starting all remote for the first two weeks, then going to a hybrid model later this month.
