A new study finds that the rate of sudden deaths of Black babies is rising.
A study by the Pediatrics Journal found that the rate of sudden death for Black infants in 2020 was nearly three times higher than the rate for white babies.
Roughly 1 out of every 6 infant deaths were considered sudden and unexpected. Among the causes of death were accidental suffocation or strangulation in the crib.
