Two people were killed when a car veered off of a road, went airborne and smashed into the second floor of a real estate office in Toms River early Sunday morning, police say.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. on Hooper Avenue. Police say the car, a Porsche Boxster, was going at a high rate of speed when it lost control, hit the median and went flying into an Exit Realty building.

Hooper Avenue was shut down between Indian Hill Road and College Drive as police investigate.

Emergency crews have been able to safely remove the car from the building. It took them hours because they had to work up from the basement to the second floor, adding support beams to the building to make sure it was structurally sound.

The victims have been identified as 22-year-old Braden DeMartin, who was driving the Porsche, and 23-year-old Daniel Foley.

Police say the car was not a stolen vehicle.
