The American Dream mega mall in East Rutherford is getting a new paint job, and mural.

Workers were out this week painting over the multi-colored rectangles that covered the outside of the ski slope.

Instead, a Canadian artist will be painting a mural there – and the mall has been collecting ideas for weeks.

American Dream is set to open Oct. 25 after around 15 years of construction.

The project has been plagued by financial problems since the first contract was awarded in 2003.

The mega mall American Dream will feature 3 million square-feet of retail, dining and entertainment, including more than 450 stores and restaurants.

The project includes an amusement park, an indoor ski slope, an indoor ice skating rink, an indoor water park and more.
