New Jersey-based comedian Artie Lange will be undergoing a “long term treatment program” for addiction after he tested positive for cocaine for the second time in less than two months.
Lange tested positive for the drug while making a drug court appearance in Newark this week.
The comedian, who lives in Hoboken, was booked at the Essex County Jail.
A post on his Twitter account says that he was not arrested, but will be held for a few days to “sober up” before he is transferred to the long term treatment facility.
“[Artie] loves and respects his fans…and it’s time,” a Twitter post read.
Lange previously tested positive for cocaine in December while on probation for heroin possession.
