Dozens of fans of Korean pop music were camped outside the Prudential Center in Newark Friday for a chance to see K-pop music sensations “BTS.”

The popular Korean boy band, also known as “Bangtan Sonyeondan” or “Behind The Scene,” performed at the Prudential Center Friday night, with a second show Saturday.

The band has taken the world by storm ever since their debut on social media several years ago. Fans of the band have dubbed themselves the “BTS Army.”

“I’ve been a fan for a while,” says Natasha Singh. “They definitely promote trying to love yourself, which is something a lot of people struggle with.”

Dozens of fans say that they have been camped outside the Prudential Center for days in tents and sleeping bags for a chance to score a ticket for the show. Some told News 12 New Jersey that they have been camped out since Tuesday.

Others said that money was no object when it came to buying a ticket.

“I paid $665, not including tax,” says one fan. “With tax, it’s $700 and something.”

Area business owners say that they welcome the crowd of “BTS” fans. One business owner tells News 12 that she is charging $1 for fans who want to use only her restroom.

Saturday’s show start at 6 p.m. with doors opening at 3:30 p.m.
