An 80-year-old diver died after suffering a medical emergency off the coast of Barnegat Light Friday morning.
The Coast Guard received a radio call from a dive boat just before 11 a.m. reporting a medical emergency involving an 80-year-old passenger.
The Coast Guard deployed a 47-foot motor lifeboat crew from Station Barnegat Light to assist.
Once on scene, Coast Guard crews escorted the dive boat to emergency services at the Lighthouse Marina
The diver was pronounced dead by the medical examiner.
