Overnight storms could bring locally heavy rain with frequent lightning to Long Island.
Any storms will be fast-moving but it could be a loud night for parts of Long Island.
Rain will end by Thursday morning with muggy conditions and temperatures in the low 70s. Thursday won't be as hot with mostly cloudy skies and a chance for scattered showers.
However, the humidity will remain rather high with an uncomfortable feel into the weekend.
Our weather is drying out Friday through the weekend with sun and clouds and daytime highs in the low to mid 80s.
The next round of showers and storms will arrive early next week with more hot and humid weather in the forecast.
