Words of wisdom right there and caution. Let's continue our team 12 coverage right now. News 12 New Jersey's Christine Quay is over in Westwood. Christine, uh, you were looking at some snow coming down before. How is it now? Yes, so we did see those initial flakes, Eric, over in Paramus as those first snow plows and salt trucks were getting onto the road, and it did stop for a little while there, but as you can see, it's actively snowing again, and there really is a good amount of snow on the ground, so that is something to keep in mind. But here in Westwood, many people actually took advantage of that pause in the snow to get out here. Many of those skiers and snowboarders coming out here on the roads though. Officials are of course encouraging people to stay off the roads so they can head over to ski shop Mount Everest. That's when it snows. These skiers say they want to be ready to head out to the slopes in the morning in the more mountainous areas of the state like Vernon. And though I'm sure there are quite a few people who are hoping for minimal snow, for minimal cleanup, many of the skiers and snowboarders that we spoke to over here in Westwood, well, they have a different idea. You know, if there's powder we try to get out there so I've been waiting to get our skis, so today's the perfect day to get them. And this is the one of the bigger first snowfalls of the season. Yes, yes, so we can't wait, so we're excited to go tomorrow, you know, ho, hoping for a lot, a lot of snow actually. Snow on the ground, that's when everyone's thinking skiing, so people are coming up, dropping off tunes, and it's just a great time. So as we said, there was a little bit of a pause earlier, but now it's coming down again, and our meteorologists have been telling you that that is expected to continue throughout the evening. Now as far as Mount Everest, that ski shop we just showed you, they're set to close in just a couple of minutes, but snow still actively falling out here. No snow yet here in Edison, but let's continue our team 12 coverage right now. News 12 New Jersey's Christine Quay in Bergen County, where I believe you got some snow there, Christine, and county employees have been hard at work. Yes, Eric, so we do officially have some snow here. Temperature has certainly dropped, but the flakes started a couple of minutes ago, and now you can see it is actually falling pretty steadily here. Of course our meteorologists have been telling you all day this is going to continue throughout the evening into the night, and that's why the Bergen County employees here are getting their salt trucks and plows. Onto the road already ahead of what's to come. So I'm going to step out of the frame so you can take a look at what's going on over here right now. They started filling up here at the Department of Public Works right around 4:30 in order to get ahead of those flakes coming down right now. And they say they're going to be doing shifts throughout the night so they can come back and fill up on salt. Here and make sure they're steadily salting the roads now. The salt barn here in Paramus holds about 5000 tons of salt, and while it's not full right now, we're still looking at thousands of tons of salt here, about 3500, so they're certainly stocked up for this storm. In the meantime though, here is what county officials say you can keep in mind overnight. Sometime around 9 in the morning, 10:00 in the morning, people should be able to get out and get and about, um, but I do ask them to stop, you know, not drive tonight when the trucks are out, give the plow operators a chance to do their job, um, you know, salt comes out the back of the truck, so we don't want their cars to get sprayed with salt and things, um, let our folks do what they're, they're paid to do. And Tedesco tells me that the main priority this evening is going to be clearing the roads and salting the roads around hospitals, police, and fire stations that emergency responders can do their job as well.
