WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- Overnight, some drizzle and pockets of fog will be possible. The winds will pick up closer toward Sunday morning. The good news for Sunday, it is not a washout. The bad news, it will be a gray and windy day with spotty showers.
- Toward sunset, batches of rain will be approaching the area. Expect to deal with on and off rain late in the day Sunday and overnight, isolated thunderstorms will swing through. They could bring quick and heavy downpours and gusty winds toward 40 mph. The quick rate of the rainfall may reduce visibility if you are out and about overnight into Monday morning. The heaviest rains will wrap up closer to the Monday AM rush and then start to taper off in intensity afterward. The gusty winds will also back down. Most of the region will see a nicer afternoon than how the day started. There is a low risk of flood concerns, especially in low-lying areas and the usual flood-prone locations.
- The system pulls away fully by the evening hours Monday. So, the second half of St. Patrick's Day will see more sun, get breezy winds at times and hopefully enjoyable to salvage the day for any festivities.
OVERNIGHT: Cloudy with spotty drizzle and some fog. Winds will pick up closer to daybreak.
