Small towns along the Delaware River are reporting increases in tourism, partially credited to New Jersey residents taking "stay-cations."

With the rising costs of gas, many in the Garden State are opting to stay local for their summer vacation. Stocktown, Frenchtown and Lambertville are among the quaint spots seeing some benefits from the fuel crisis.

Mary Ellen Mason, who owns the Lambertville House in Hunterdon County, says the area is perfect for getting away without going far.

"Our location is ideal for the vacationer," she says. "We are two hours from Manhattan and an hour from Philadelphia."
