New Jersey Attorney General Jeffrey Chiesa and the state Division of Consumer Affairs are suing a pair of Bergen County contractors accused of targeting senior citizens in a home repair scam. The state filed suit against AAA Reliable Inc. and Old Reliable Construction LLC, both of which are owned by Sul Lita. The case alleges that the companies performed potentially hazardous work, damaged several chimneys and duped customers out of $20,000 for unneeded repairs. Temporary limitations placed on the businesses dictate that they may not advertise, sell or perform home improvements. They also agreed to freeze company assets and shut down their website. Chiesa's lawsuit seeks to revoke AAA Reliable's contractor registration, and is seeking restitution of up to $40,000 per violation.
