New Jersey State Police will be setting up a sobriety checkpoint outside the PNC Arts Center Friday.
The state police posted on its
Facebook page that the checkpoint is designed “to make our roads safer and reduce crashes attributed to driving while under the influence.”
The Facebook post also addressed some New Jersey residents’ beliefs that DWI checkpoints are illegal.
“Rest assured that DWI checkpoints are quite legal in New Jersey, and we have them in order to save lives,” the post reads.
Police say that any motorists who witness someone they believe to be driving dangerously should report that driver by calling #77.
The PNC Arts Center will feature Zac Brown Band with special guest Darrell Scott Friday evening.
