State police say one person was killed and another was injured when they were struck by a vehicle on the Garden State Parkway in Toms River Saturday night.
It happened in the southbound lanes near MP 86 at 11:15 p.m.
State police say 21-year-old Frank Puglisi, of Staten Island, and 50-year-old Daniel Cintron, of Ossining, New York, were standing outside of their vehicle on the right shoulder of the parkway.
That's when they say a Mercury Mountaineer driven by Roberto Sandoval-Guerrero, 37, of Toms River, struck both of them.

Police say the crash is under investigation.
All southbound lanes have since been reopened.
