New Jersey residents are expected to travel in droves by plains, trains and automobiles this season in order to get somewhere for the holidays.
More than 300,000 residents are planning to travel by air this season. Residents on the road will also have to deal with increased holiday traffic. AAA officials expect more than 1 million residents to travel by car in the Garden State between now and New Year's Eve. Another 76,000 are expected to use trains and buses.
Travelers driving north through the region say they'll miss the warmth of the south, but home is home.
"Last week, it was 80 degrees," says Bill Billie, who was driving back to Yonkers from North Carolina. "I was playing golf!"
