A Stamford chiropractor saved an injured hawk found in the parking lot of his office Monday morning.
Dr. Reuben Malkiel says the bird was near his office building on Summer Street. He observed the hawk lying on the ground and not moving for 20 minutes, and says he thinks it may have flown into the building where it injured itself.
Malkiel and his wife called a rescue society, who told him to wrap the hawk in a towel and place it in a pet carrier while they come to pick up the bird.
He says he has never seen a hawk up close like this before and wanted to make sure he was very careful during the rescue.
