The temperatures might still say summer, but for Halloween enthusiasts, the countdown to scary season officially begins Aug. 1 in New Jersey.
Beginning at 7 a.m., Spirit Halloween will welcome fans at its flagship store in Egg Harbor Township, and people eager to begin celebrating their favorite fall holiday are already gearing up for the big event.
A spokesperson for Spirit Halloween said preregistration for the grand opening was capped at 2,000 tickets and sold out almost instantly. Not to worry, though, a massive outdoor general-admission festival will still be open to the public outside the store. The free event will feature games, freebies, food, treats and “scary surprises.”
Last year’s grand opening event in Egg Harbor was canceled due to supply chain issues, but the chain said this year’s event has already generated “massive fan demand.”
The flagship store’s grand-opening festival kicks off at 7 a.m. on Aug. 1. Viewers who missed preregistration can arrive on-site at 7 a.m. to join the general-admission lanyard line for “guaranteed store access.”
At 8 a.m., outdoor festivities begin, followed by an official ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m. The event concludes at noon, but the store will remain open until 8 p.m. Registration details are available on the Spirit Halloween website.
