A special meeting was held in Wall Township Tuesday night to discuss dilapidated trailers behind Central Elementary School.
The meeting was designed to help parents get some answers and talk more about what exactly happened regarding the now-shuttered trailers once used as classrooms.
Parents and even some retired teachers spoke to the board members, and wanted to know more about the conditions of the trailers, as well as the process leading up to why things were done the way they were -- who knew what and when.
The board voted back on Aug. 20 to stop using the trailers as classrooms.
Superintendent Cheryl Dyer said they would be used for other instructional purposes.
"Maybe the board should have known at some point, but we found out last night, going forward our goal is to make sure everyone knows everything, there's no reason anyone should be in the dark,” says new board president Ralph Addonizio.
In the last month, four of the nine sitting school board members resigned, including the former president.
